SETTLEMENTS
WILDLIFE & SCENERY
With a varied blend of coastline, freshwater and sea lochs, moorland, hills, pockets of trees, and grassland we are fortunate to be blessed with amazing views and an environment rich in biodiversity.
Pairc is regularly visited by nationally rare bird species, such as curlews, golden plover, hen harriers, and the majestic golden and white-tailed eagles. Summer brings the calls of cuckoos, lapwings and skylarks, with the thrumming of snipe in the morning and evening. Winter sees visiting redwing, tufted duck, and whooper swans pass through or overwintering. You can often catch glimpses of otters, and occasionally dolphins and whales, in sea lochs around the coast, and red deer and grouse are a common sight on the moors.
